Nam Seung-hyun, the demonstration team leader of the Kuk-Ki-Won(국기원 / Korea National TaeKwondo Institution), has succeeded in challenging the Guinness World Record for a public high jump.
On his birthday, April 24th, he jumped without a vaulting box and smashed an apple hanging 3.1 meters high in mid-air at the central training center of the Kuk-Ki-Won in Seoul.
The Kuk-Ki-Won stated that "the 3.1-meter high jump is the first Guinness World Record in the category, " and added that "Alicio Jo, a supervisor from the Guinness World Records, witnessed the successful challenge at the scene."
Nam Seung-hyun is a master of Taekwondo, who achieved three consecutive victories in the comprehensive breaking category of the World Taekwondo Hanmadang from 1999 to 2001.
