On the night of the 19th, during the KBS1TV current affairs program "His Majesty and I: Revealing the Black Money of the Chun Woo-won and Chun Du-hwan Family," a text message was revealed. Chun Woo-won, who has been leading a campaign of apology on behalf of his family regarding the past controversies surrounding former President Chun Du-hwan, revealed that his uncle, Jae-guk, expressed dissatisfaction with his actions. In a text message, Jae-guk stated, "You are no longer my nephew or anything else. Don't come looking for me or call me. Cut off all contact and live your life properly."

During the broadcast, it was reported that Jae-guk had requested a close acquaintance to monetize anonymous bonds worth 20 billion KRW (approximately $18 million USD), which took about 3 to 4 months to process. Additionally, Chun Woo-won's mother, Choi, testified, "In the past, my late father-in-law asked my father to keep a certain box for him. My husband told me that when he opened the box, it was filled with keys to various safe-deposit boxes, and each box was filled with bonds."

Choi married Chun Jae-yong, the second son of former President Chun Du-hwan, in 1992. However, they divorced in 2007 after his long de facto relationship with Park Sang-ah, a television personality since the late 1990s. After the divorce, Chun Jae-yong officially married Park in the United States in 2003, while also registering marriages with her in Korea since 2007, making it his third marriage.

The UiChungbu District Court's 11th Civil Division (Chief Judge Kim Do-yo) accepted an application for an injunction against the CEO and an appointment of a provisional manager, which was filed by Mr. A, the largest shareholder of Book Plus, accusing Chun Jae-guk and Mr. Kim of "embezzlement and other charges."

The embezzlement allegations against Chun Jae-guk include personal use of corporate credit cards, opaque financial transactions with a related company called "Care Plus," and opaque financial transactions between Kim, who served as CEO from 2018 to 2019, and Book Plus.
